ASP.NET is available for download as part of the .NET Framework. Following
on from version 1 and version 1.1, Microsoft has released version 2.0
of the .Net Framework which includes ASP.NET 2.0. The Microsoft .NET.
Framework version 2.0 redistributable package includes all the basic functionality
to enable your computer to run applications and web sites developed using
Microsoft’s .Net platform.
To run ASP.Net applications you need to download and install the NET
Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86). The redistributable
package is just over 20MB.
Installation is a fairly straight forward process just double click the
downloaded exe file and follow the on screen installation instructions.
ASP.NET with the .Net Framework version 2 installed will run on Windows
XP Professional, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2003 Server.
Now that you have the .Net Framework installed you should also install
the .NET Framework 2.0 SDK.
