These two DVD's provide over 20 hours of video training on a broad range of ASP.NET 2.0 topics. The tutorials are very informative and well presented by instructor and developer Andy Olsen as well as being enjoyable and easygoing.
The tutorials may be a step in at the deep end for the absolute beginner and perhaps some grounding in ASP.NET 2.0 would be beneficial to get the most out the DVD though that shouldn’t put you off, just purchase the DVD and do some background reading while you wait on the DVD to be shipped. If you’re a developer from another discipline then this is a perfect start.
Even though the tutorials were in C# as opposed to VB.NET this makes very little difference as there wasn't a great deal of coding with the emphasis being on declarative programming and using the controls that come with ASP.NET 2.0. Even when there is it’s fairly straightforward and easy to follow.
If you have dipped your feet in ASP.NET, then these tutorials are a good place to broaden your knowledge. The price is very very competitive compared to the cost of hiring a professional instructor or attending a paid course and in terms of getting up to speed with subject the DVD is an excellent time saver.
Obviously due to time constraints everything couldn't be covered from scratch or in great depth. The topics below are covered in the first DVD.
