Installing ASP on Windows XP

If you run Windows XP Professional on your computer then you can install Internet Information Server IIS 5.1

To install this option, follow these steps:
Before you start make sure you have placed the Windows XP Pro CD-Rom into your CD-Rom Drive.
Click Start > Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Next click Add/Remove Windows Components.

Internet Information Services

Next select the Internet Information Services check box.

Windows XP IIS

In the Windows Component Wizard, click Next, and follow the on-screen instructions. Accept the default settings which will set your Web Root to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot.

Unfortunately, the XP Home edition doesn't have this capability and you'll have to upgrade to XP professional.
